Chitons(Placophora)
|
|
Chitons can be found on blue-mussels or stones with diatomees. If they are not hurt, they can be
kept very well in an aquarium. They eat diatomees and have unpretentious habits.
|
Chitons neither have feelers nor have eyes, but in contradiction to all other snails they owe a
house which contents of different plates of a leatherlike material. Because of this, they`ve been
put in the own class of Placophora. In the North-Sea can be found the grey chiton, Lepidochiton
marginatus(=L. cinereus). If she gets removed from the ground she adheres, she rolls in like a
slater.
