Gobys Many different species of gobys can be found near the sea-shore. They mean an important food for migrating sea-birds. They can be kept very well in little aquaria, and some aquarists could even multiply them. In the summer-period You can find the common goby during the low tides in crowds in tide-ponds, where they coexist with true-shrimps. The double spotted goby is a species, which can be found in crowds in harbours, where they are swimming in the open water. Because of their both dark spots they can be disguised very well from other gobys.

Black Goby(Gobius niger) Black gobies are good fish for an aquarium and can be kept for some years. I´d put a black goby from the Baltic-Sea together with the indopacific shrimp Alpheus bisincisus into a tropical seawater- aquarium. Some weeks later both lived together in symbiosis in the same cave. Kept in the tropical aquarium, the goby lived just one year, but it had been a succesful try out. I guess, that this goby lives together in symbiosis with Crustacea- species from the North-Sea and the Baltic-Sea, but this has only been noticed from the goby Lesueurigobius friesii and the norway lobster Nephrops norvegicus yet.

Die Schwarzgrundel (Gobius niger) Schwarzgrundeln sind sehr ausdauernde Aquarienfische und können mehrere Jahre alt werden. Ich setzte sogar eine Schwarzgrundel aus der Ostsee mit dem indopazifischen Knallkrebs Alpheus bisincisus zusammen in ein tropisches Seewasserbecken. Nach einigen Wochen lebten sie in Symbiose zusammen in derselben Höhle. Im Warmwasser gehalten lebte die Grundel leider nur ein Jahr, aber das Experiment war es wohl wert. Ich gehe davon aus, daß diese Grundeln in Nord- und Ostsee auch mit Krebstieren in Symbiose leben, doch ist dies bisher nur von der Grundel Lesueurigobius friesii und dem Kaisergranat Nephrops norvegicus bekannt geworden.
