ISOPODA - ASSELN - SLATERS
		Meeres-Asseln(Isopoda) Es gibt viele verschiedene Arten von Asseln. Wahrscheinlich sind Asseln eine der erfolgreichsten Tiergruppen überhaupt, denn sie kommen vom Hochgebirge bis zur Antarktis, auf dem Land, im Süßwasser, im Meerwasser und bis zur Tiefsee vor. Die Baltische Meerassel auf dem Foto ist ein nützlicher Resteverwerter, der organischen Müll jeglicher Herkunft verwertet. Tagsüber klammern sie sich an Seetang, Seegras oder andere Algen und nachts schwimmen sie frei im Wasser. Im Aquarium sind sie leider nicht so ausdauernd wie die Flohkrebse der Gattung Gammarus. Es soll jedoch nicht unerwähnt bleiben, daß es auch parasitische Asseln gibt, die an Fischen schmarotzen und alles andere als angenehm sind für ihren Wirt.
					Sea-slaters(Isopoda) Many different species of slaters occure all over the world; it maybe that they are the most succesful group of all animals. They have managed to conquer many places from the mountains to Antarctis, on the land, in the freshwater and in the seawater unto the deep-sea. The baltic sea-slater shown at the photo is a useful eater of all kind of organic garbage. By daylight they`re clinging at sea-weeds, sea-gras or other algae and by the night they start swimming through the water.They can be kept in aquaria, but they`re not as good aquarium-animals as the flea-crabs of the genus Gammarus. But it shall not be unmentioned, that there are some species of slaters which can torment fish, because they are living as parasites.
